When received this model was filthy and in dire need of a full cleaning and lots of work.
Repairs: The driver side A pillar and door posts were broken in half. Consequently , this hinged door did not operate correctly. This was corrected and the paint touched up with a brew of Model Master paints. One headlight was detached from the light bar and was re-attached. New windows were fashioned and installed. A new radiator hose was fabricated. New wiring was necessary. The front bumper brackets were repaired. Both the front seats and driver side door were reflocked. Many pieces were treated to partial or complete coverings of bare metal foil 3 of 4 hubcaps, firewall, rear bumper and the headlight edges.

Paint: Many chips in the body and a section of the driver side door were touched up with a mix of Model Master Stoplight Red Metallic and black paints. The underside was painted a mix of paints to match the color Dave had painted the underside originally. Yes, he painted over the wires originally as well. The front bumper bracket and rear bracket area were touched up as well. The interior’s paint was untouched except for small parts of the steering wheel rim. The battery was completely repainted. When touched, the whitewalls came off the tires in one piece (one sent with model) so they were repainted. The pinstripes were duplicated and installed in the same misaligned manor as the originals.

Parts Replaced: Radiator hose, windows, pinstripes and wiring.

Comments: The plug for the battery pack is located near the transmission. There appears to have been something placed at the rear of the car on top of the bumper brackets. No photo exists of the back of the car — there is some suggestion that some accessory was once mounted there, but there is no available research on this subject.
